Gun control .. what more can be said?

PLENTY!! The horrific shootings at Virginia Tech have left me shocked and frustrated.
Frustrated because I wonder how many more of these episodes it will take before the US
govt decides handguns are more of a danger than a right . Enough said.
On a lighter note my spirits were lifted Tuesday night when Heather and I joined  some
friends (along with electric bass and electric keyboard and acoustic guitar) and
went along to a local seniors care facility to entertain them with songs for just over an hour.
I think we thought we were doing it for them , but after chatting with them when it
was over I realized that I was grateful for being there. One wonderful old gentleman
had tears streaming down his cheeks as he profusely thanked us for taking the time to
come perform for them.  We'll definitely be going  back again !

Last night on CBC's THE HOUR  I caught an interview with Tony Campolo who I had the pleasure to meet and photograph during his tour for WORLD VISION a couple of years ago. Tony Campolo is a Christian who delivers a message that is as far away from the typical US rightwing evangelical preacher
as you can get. He's down to earth , funny !!! and sharp as a tack. He knows politics from the inside out
as he was Bill Clinton's spiritual advisor during those difficult Lewinsky years. His discussion of that during the interview, shows his love for his fellow man isn't dependent on whether you occupy the West WIng or an alley on Yonge Street. His priority is helping people in need which is fueled by his deep personal faith in Jesus Christ.

boy in Uganda named Patrick and love receiving his progress reports and drawings. If you want to make a difference in this world but aren't sure where to start, I'd suggest a call to World Vision !
